What does this adapter do?

The Blitzsafe MB/M-LINK1 V.2 allows you to add an iPod or iPhone to your compatible, factory installed audio system. The Blitzsafe MB/M-LINK1 V.2 will charge both older iPods with 12 volt firewire systems, and newer iPods with the 5 volt USB charging systems.
